Dream Come True for Company's Scheduling Nightmare

CLIENT
Gabriel Group has been doing business for over 10 years with the best-known agriculture and seed company in the world.

PROBLEM, CHALLENGE, OPPORTUNITY
In 2007, the company's executives developed a personalized, three-day training program for sales representatives. Each of the 200 participants was asked to pre-select 8 of 17 possible educational topics. The company needed help to develop a comprehensive time/location plan that would successfully accommodate their sales personnel's choices and provide attendees with an individualized schedule, including curriculum, location, and times. Each attendee needed to be able to attend all eight classes that they chose.

The agricutural company's agency sought out Gabriel Group to handle this project within its tight scheduling frame of two weeks.

RESULT
To successfully navigate the intricacies of the company's personalized scheduling program, Gabriel Group wrote a software program using algorithms to allocate and schedule each attendee in the correct sessions. Variable considerations included the number of classes, the maximum number of session participants, provisions for breakout meetings, classroom capacity, and other factors.

All told, nearly 12,000 potential combinations were possible. Gabriel Group then digitally printed and delivered a unique schedule for each sales representative, including detailed data-driven graphics with each individual's training time, class, and locations.
